Kinovu School is a home away from home for children 0-5 years and their families, that seeks to empower young learners with tools for life. To achieve this, each Kinovu School follows the VESS curriculum, a neuroscience-based, Reggio-Emilia inspired, and inquiry-focused bilingual model that sees each baby and child as a unique and valuable citizen of its community capable of adding tremendous value.
Through VESS and a solid family-school partnership, our school nurtures thinking skills, life-long love for learning, citizenship, worldliness, and strong socio-emotional bonds with the Kinovu School community that prepare children for life way beyond school. With its vision to be the Lighthouse of Education for the world, Kinovu School have acted as an educational center for families, educators and the surrounding Miami community for 25 years.Â

Discover the VESS Model
For decades, neuroscience has studied how children’s brains work and learn. Based on these findings, Edu1st developed the VESS educational model – a cutting edge, eclectic and holistic model that integrates the best of diverse educational strategies. Some of these strategies include Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, the British and Australian curriculums, PYP and the Visible Thinking approach. VESS utilizes Thinking as its main teaching strategy because VESS understands that learning is not taught, but built by each individual when they undergo a process of engagement with the topic explored, followed by the opportunity to make their learning visible and tangible through the right questions and thinking strategies. VESS’ ultimate goal is to develop individuals who lead balanced, meaningful and wise lives.
VESS is a Spanish acronym that stands for “Vida Equilibrada con Sentido y Sabiduria”, or “Meaningful Life with Balance and Wisdom.” It is a model utilized in preschool and K-12 education around the world that transforms societies through the consolidation of a culture of sustainable thinking.

Our team are teachers and leaders with backgrounds in early childhood and elementary education, as well as additional training and certificates in Visible Thinking strategies, mathematical thinking in early childhood, emotional education strategies, bilingualism and many more fields and disciplines. Our team comes from an array of cultural backgrounds, enabling us to provide a worldly yet intimate school experience, tailored to the unique needs of each child.
